Deeply sorry for your loss, Magda. The people we know are precious, leaving thier foot prints in our lives. This his life is hard, and your road is especially tough. But, even though the way into this collapse is dark, there will still be moments of blinding, beautiful light, especially if you can keep your hands in the soil.

Hi Margi, keeping my hands in the soil is the plan. Thank you for your condolences. It is an especially tough time, but as I remind myself, so am I (tough that is). I'll be honouring him in the seeds I grow and the people I get to feed.

Sorry to hear about your friend and mentor. Thanks for bringing a lot of these things to attention, the plight of farm workers. For what should be recognised as one of the most important and essential roles in our society, they sure are treated like shit (same goes for teachers). We sure do have things backwards, no? But a good reminder, yep there's plenty of people out there, not on instagram reels or facebook stories, doing good work, getting shit done.

And good luck with the UK visa struggles. Been through all that and I remember how "frustrating" *(suppressing some angry expletives here)* the experience is, sort of living between worlds. We failed and ended up leaving and I look back now and think it was probably for the best, but I hope you guys manage to make it work for you.

Hi Leon, thanks for your condolences.

It sure does seem like we have it backwards sometimes. Especially at the moment. But I always remind myself that the people doing the best work are probably not the ones being the loudest about it on the internet. The teachers, the farmers, the activists, the care workers, can all be found in the offline world. And there are ways I can support them irl too.

As for the Visa the liminal space has been [also trying not to swear] interesting. I'm sorry you went through it too, but glad you feel it worked out. We are probably taking the same route you did, regrouping at least and heading back to the US. I'm sure that too will be interesting!

'The old proverb that Casey quoted most often was that “the best fertiliser is a farmer’s footsteps.” Bring attention to what you do and it will bloom. At all times try to bring even a fraction of the attention that he brought to farming into what I do.' This was beautiful and heartbreaking to read. I'm so sorry for your loss.
